Introducing Ambara™, a proprietary lightweight, low density, and thermally modified West African tropical hardwood. Our proprietary thermal modification process gives our Ambara™ a consistent and beautiful caramel color throughout the wood. Ambara™ can be used for:
Korina is a medium density West African tropical hardwood. Korina, also known as Frake, is a secondary species not typically used for exterior applications as it does not meet the durability requirements. The thermal modification process does lower the strength and density, as it does with any species. However, as the starting density and weight of the species are sufficient, the end result of thermal modification is a product that is still well suited for decking and railings as well as siding and soffits.
Korina is always sourced from sustainably managed forests as a secondary species, and will be fully OLB, Origine et Légalité des Bois, certified. FSC, Forest Stewardship Council, certification may be available for larger projects when required.
Korina can be used for:
Nova is the leading importer of Batu Decking, also known as Red Balau Hardwood. With over 30 years of experience in sourcing the finest Batu hardwood decking in the world, our staff is here to assist in your search for the perfect combination of quality and value.
Nova Batu hardwood decking closely resembles the rich classic look of Mahogany. Heartwood from Batu or Red Balau hardwood ranges from a medium red to a deep red / brown with purple tinges and often has resin canals with white contents in concentric lines on end surfaces which produce a warm and visually striking effect. The texture is moderately fine and grain is typically interlocked.
